Le but de ce séminaire est d'introduire et de développer l'approche de Michael Makkai aux fondements des mathématiques. Il sera donné par Makkai lui-même (en anglais) au rythme d'une séance par deux semaines.
Les séances auront lieu au Z-205 du pavillon Claire McNicoll au 2900 Édouard-Montpetit, de 10h30 à 12h00. C'est en haut de la côte, l'aile droite du bâtiment principal, devant l'édifice du département de mathématiques.
Par ailleurs, Michael a déjà mis sur son site des textes liés au séminaire. Il n'est pas nécessaire de les avoir lu pour suivre le séminaire. Il y aura des ajouts en cours de route. Vous pouvez les trouver à l'adresse suivante:

Michael Makkai's approach

The goal of this seminar is to introduce and develop Michael Makkai's approach to the foundations of mathematics. It will be given by Makkai himself (in english) and will take place once every two weeks.
Each session will be one and a half hours and they will take place in in room Z-205, Claire McNicoll Building from 10h30 to 12h00. The building is up the hill, at the far right of the main building, in front of the math department (so to speak).
Michael has already put some papers on his web site. They are not prerequisite to the seminar, but complementary lectures. More to come. You can find them at:
