In this talk the problem of determining the stability of a non-autonomous discrete linear system is considered. The adopted point of view is that of a worst case analysis, which leads to conditions of uniform stability for the considered system. The key point is that of extending the spectral radius from a single matrix to a set of matrices. Such a measure is called the joint spectral radius of the set. First we discuss such a generalization and recall the main results from the literature. Then then we pass to consider the problem of the computation of the joint spectral radius and describe a possible strategy. The behaviour of the algorithm will be illustrated by some examples.
