Hypergeometric L-functions and how to compute them

Abstract: Hypergeometric L-functions form a class of Hasse-Weil L-functions which are at once quite general (e.g., they can have more or less arbitrary Hodge numbers) and quite concrete (e.g., there are excellent algorithms available to compute them). I'll survey some things we do and do not know about these objects; this will include some joint work with Edgar Costa and David Roe.
