Although every subspace of a Euclidean space is Lindelof, the space of irrational numbers is not PL. K. Alster discovered a condition that is sufficient (and perhaps necessary) for a space to be PL. We explore a number of conditions that imply Alster's condition. We had rediscovered this condition in connection with or studies of absolute CR-epic spaces. This is joint work with J. Kennison and R. Raphael.
