Abstract
I will try to answer a question raised last term by Makkai (a special case of which is related to an old result of Kennison; maybe I will review that) using some results in SGA4 and a construction which I believe is due to Joyal. Although the question was raised (and Kennison's result resides) in the context of a sheaf representation, there is no explicit use of such a representation in the argument.
