Research:

My research interests fall into several disparate fields of mathematics.
Lately I've been working in arithmetic geometry, algebraic dynamical
systems, and tropical geometry. All of my research is motivated strongly
by number theory or dynamics in some way.

The graphic at the right was designed for my recent paper with Matt Baker;
it illustrates a compact tropical curve of genus 2 embedded in its Jacobian.
Unfortunately, the colors don't print too well in black and white, so there's
a more staid graphic in the article.
