Recommended Good Combinations for students entering U1

With the increasing demand for multidisciplinary degrees, the popularity of the Bachelor of Arts and Science degree and the introduction of the Bachelor of Science Liberal degree, the crucial task of program selection at McGill has become more perplexing than ever before. Making the correct choice from day one gives an important advantage. It will often be possible to make minor adjustments to programs after the first semester and occasionally also after the first year without significant loss of time and effort.

While there will always be a some motivated students with unusual and deeply held plans for their education which may require out of the ordinary combinations, the vast majority of students will follow well established paths. The purpose of this page is, for students who will take at least half of their program credits in Mathematics or Statistics, to list multidisciplinary programs which make good sense from a pedagogical point of view and also open up prospects for the future, in terms of job opportunities and/or further study.
