30 January 2007 2:30 - 4:00 D Bargelli Pregroup grammars and the Chinese verb Abstract: Pregroup grammars, as an algebraic calculation system, have been proved effective in the study of syntax of grammatically well-formed sentences. Adding semantic features to the algebraic calculation extends the mathematical proof on both levels: syntax and semantics. Confronting Chinese with Pregroups offers an interesting plan for such a challenge.
