The "list of exercises" refers to the exercises at the end of the
class
notes
In some of the assignments you'll see instructions saying "Solve
questions a, b, c, ..., f" and then "submit questions x, y, ...,
z". The meaning of that is that by now I expect you to be able to
solve successfully all the questions a, b, c, ..., z. Especially
since you are asked NOT to submit them. For those
questions, you are welcome to come to my office hours to ask for
hints, discuss with your friends, look them up on the web etc.
However, in regard to the questions you have to submit: in this
case the solution must be yours. You are not allowed to
write common solutions, or copy a solution off some website of
text book. In case you are stuck, you are welcome to come to my
office hours and ask for hints.

This assignment is optional. I will replace its grade for any
weaker get on the previous assignments.

(Note: (42) part b is not required. It will be quite
easy to do once we have finished the section on computing Galois
groups, but probably challenging at this point)
