Assignments



The weekly assignments are an essential part of the course. You should plan to devote at least ten hours a week (and quite possibly more) to the assignments.
If you are stuck on a problem, you may seek out the help of one of the TA's, the professor, or one of your classmates. It is OK to work on the assignments in groups, although you should hand them in individually. Do not neglect the assignments: there is a strong correlation between the work you put into them and how well you will do in the exams.
The assignments are due on Wednesdays and will be graded and returned to you on the Monday of the following week. Late assignments will not be accepted.

  4. Assignment 4. Due: Wednesday, Oct. 1.

  6. Assignment 6. Due: Wednesday, Oct. 15.
  7. Assignment 7 (Practice mid-term). Does not need to be handed in.
  8. Assignment 8. Due: Wednesday, Nov. 5.
  9. Assignment 9. Due: Wednesday, Nov. 12.
  10. Assignment 10. Due: Wednesday, Nov. 19.
  11. Assignment 11. Due: Monday, Dec. 1.
  12. Assignment 12 (Practice final). Does not need to be handed in.
